Irene Zevon (American, 1918-2006) modern art ceramic pottery large lidded jar with anthropomorphic head on the stopper lid and geometric color design on the shoulder, unsigned. 16" H x 11" diameter. Note: Nahum Tschacbasov and Irene Zevon were residents of New York City's famed Chelsea Hotel. Tschacbasov was a member of the Expressionist Art group "The Ten" alongside Mark Rothko. He taught at the Art Students League and married Zevon, a former student of his. All works by both artists in this sale were acquired from the estate of Tschacbasov's son.
