Terms and Conditions
I. Introduction
All bidders are responsible for reading and understanding the following
terms of sale, as well as any supplemental notices or announcements.
All property offered and sold through Showplace Antique Center's auctions
are offered and sold on the terms and conditions in this entire document.
BY participating in any sale you acknowledge that you are bound by these
terms and conditions. If you have any questions after reading the following

II. Condition Reports and Authenticity
The absence of condition remarks in the catalogue does not mean the
item is in perfect condition.
It is the buyer's responsibility to know the condition of property
before bidding.
Items are available for preview by appointment 10-500 Monday-Sunday.
Please contact Max Wolf or Lara Haskins at least 24 hours in advance.
It is the buyer's responsibility to know all the conditions and corrections
before the sale.
All the lots are sold "As Is" and the consignor not the Showplace makes
no warranties or representations of any kind with respect to any property
offered for sale, since the auctioneers is acting solely as an auction
broker (and unless otherwise states) does not own the property for sale.
Therefore the auctioneer makes no warranties in respect to the catalogue
description or any other statement of attributions, authenticity, provenance,
origin, size, age of condition of any property up for sale.
Buyers must rely on their won knowledge when purchasing merchandise.
ALL SALES ARE FINAL therefore it is crucial that the bidder knows
all the information about the lot before bidding.
All statements contained in the catalogue or in any bill of sale, invoice,
or elseware as to the authorship, quality, variety, provenance, importance,
exhibition and literature of historical relevance or physical condition
are qualified statements of opinion and not representative or warranties.
If the buyer doubts the items authenticity they have 30 DAYS from the
date of the sale to submit, at his own expense, an opinion in writing from
a recognized expert, approved by the Auction House and the purchaser, regarding
authenticity. If the work is judged as authentic by the expert, the work
may be returned in the same condition as at the time of sale and the buyers
full purchase price will be refunded. Refunds do not include cost of transportation,
shipping, insurance or any other expenses that may be incurred by the buyer.
It is the buyer's responsibility to make payment in a timely fashion such
that the property can be released and inspected within the 30 day time
frame.
ALL MEASUREMENTS and WEIGHTS ARE APPROXIMATE
This warranty does not cover typographical errors.
The descriptions of clocks, jewelry and lighting devices, whether in
catalogues, condition reports or any other form may be incomplete and not
identify every mechanical replacement, repairs or object. The absence of
reference to the condition of a clock, jewelry or lighting device does
not imply it to be in working condition or without defects, repairs, restorations
or replacement parts. No warranty is made is that any clock or watch is
in working condition or without defects, restorations or working parts.
Buyers are advised to check if the watch or clock works prior to the auction.
We sell clocks, lamps and all electrical items only for their decorative
value. They are not represented to be in working order, but they may be.
Bidding in our auctions indicates that you accept these terms.
WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO WITHDRAW ANY PROPERTY BEFORE THE SALE AND SHALL
HAVE NO LIABILITY WHATSOEVER FOR WITHDRAWAL OF PROPERTY.
III. Bidding
A. Introduction
By bidding in the auction the buyer and all bidders agree to be bound
by these terms or those changed and supplemented, whether internet budding,
by phone internet or absentee.
The highest bidder acknowledges shall b e the purchaser. In the event
of a phone bidder being the highest bidder, they will immediately know
and are responsible for paying the highest bidding price plus buyers premium,
shipping fees and taxes (if applicable).
Absentee bidders will know that they are the highest bidder within 72
hours after the auction and are bound to payment.
Successful bidders will be notified and invoiced within 72 hours following
the sale.
In the event of any dispute between bidders, the auctioneer shall have
sole and final discretion either to determine the successful bidder or
to re-offer and resell the article in dispute.
B. Internet Bidders
Showplace has engaged the services of ebay Live Auctions and Live Auctioneers.
Please proceed to www.ebayliveauctions.com for all necessary information
on how to bid and buy online using this system. If you place absentee bids
with the Auction House, ebay Live Auctions or Live Auctioneers and also
bid in person, by phone or by any absentee bids prior to the start of the
auction. If you do not, or cannot, regardless of reason, you will be held
responsible for the property's purchase.
All internet bidders are charged a 22.5% Buyers Premium.
C. Absentee Bidders and Phone Bidders
Call or fax at least 24 hours in advance. The forms need to faxed or
emailed.
We must have a signature to validate your credit card information.
If this is not provided we cannot process the bid.

or faxed 212 633 6064 ATTN: LARA. If you have any questions contact Lara
Haskins 212 633 6063 x 805.
In order to best service you please provide the LOT NUMBER, DESCRIPTION
OF ITEM, ADDRESS, PHONE NUMBER, and DRIVER'S LISCENCE. The form MUST BE
SIGNED. If the form is not signed and sent back to Showplace Antique Center
we cannot register you as a bidder.
Payment for all absentee and telephone bidders is required 5 business
days after the auction.
As a service to our clients we call and confirm ONLY WINNING BIDDERS
within 72 hours after the auction and confirm the total billing costs which
include Buyer's price, buyer's premium, shipping and taxes (if applicable).
If the auctioneer does not hear back from the winning bidder within 5 business
days after the auction she will charge the provided credit card at the
end of the final business day.
We are not liable for lost Phone or Absentee bids.
We cannot guarantee Telephone or Absentee bids made during the auction
and are not responsible for any lost if made at least 2 hours before the
start of the auction.
All requests for overseas telephone bids must be accompanied by absentee
bids which will be executed on the buyers behalf, should there be any problems
with any connections.
All absentee bidders incur the buyer's premium of 17.5%
In the case of identical Absentee bids left with us, the bid received
first will prevail.
Payment for all Telephone bids is required within 5 business days after
the auction.
All requests for overseas Telephone Bids must be accompanied by an Absentee
Bid, which will be executed on the buyers behalf, should there be any problems
with telephone connections.
IV. Reserves and Estimates
A reserve is the confidential minimum price established by the Auction
House and the Consignor.
If the lot does not reach its reserve the lot will be bought in house.
Showplace has a right to bid until the lot has reached its reserve.
Some lots will have no reserve but in most cases the Consignor has
established one.
Estimates are neither a representation not prediction of the actual
selling price that will be realized at the auction, post auction sale,
or upon resale.
V. Sales Results
Sales results will be available on the web post sale.
If ebay records Auction Floor Bidder as the winner, either the piece
has not met its reserve and it was bought in house, or a Phone/Absentee
Bidder won the item.
VI. Preview
Many of our items are onsite, however some are not. Please call at
least 24 hours in advance to set up a preview.
We strongly urge potential bidders to preview items if condition of
an item is of a concern. It is the bidder's responsibility to know the
condition of the item.
VII. Buyer's Premium, Taxes, and Purchase Price
A Buyer's Premium of 22.5% will be applied to the purchase price of
all the items bought through live internet bidding.
A Buyer's Premium of 17.5% will be applied to the purchase price of
all items purchased through Absentee and Phone Bidding.
All items shipped out of state do not pay New York State taxes
If shipping items in the state of New York or picking up from the Showplace,
regardless of your location, New York taxes will be applied.
Only a valid resale certificate from any state as proof of exemption
from New York sales tax is allowed.
VIII. Payment
All payments from online bidder are due within 3 days of the auction
unless otherwise arranged.
All payments from Absentee and Phone Bidders are due within 5 days
of the auction.
We prefer paypal as it is the most efficient and dependable. Please
send an email to info@nyshowplace.com for payment by paypal.
We also accept Visa and MasterCard, Cash(In House Only) and Personal
Check.
We hold all goods paid for by Check until payment is cleared.
IX. Shipment and Packing Fees
US Shipments are sent UPS Ground. They are all insured for the total
costs which includes Purchase Price, Buyers Premium and Taxes.
International packages go USPS. They are fully insured unless requested
by the winning bidder.
Please allow 24 hours for shipping and packing fees to be added to
your invoice.
Packing fees are based on the lot's price, size, material, etc.
Packing fees will also be adjusted based on special requests.
All furniture shipping is to be arranged by the Buyer. We can recommend
freighters and shippers. The furniture should be picked up within 10 days
of the auction.
